Information

PSA-ACT Complex

Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) is a glycoprotein enzyme, which is encoded in humans by the KLK3 gene and is secreted by the epithelial cells of the prostate gland. PSA exists in two major forms; free PSA and PSA-ACT (PSA bound to Alpha-1 Antichymotrypsin). PSA forms a covalent complex with ACT in human blood and forms a complex known as PSA-ACT Complex, which is used as a prostate tumor marker
