PSA is a 34 kDa serine protease belonging to Kallikrein family. It can be found either in its free form or bound to serine protease inhibitors like ACT. Antibodies are used to determine the ratio of free to total PSA or complexed PSA (cPSA) as a means to distinguish between prostate cancer and other inflammatory conditions
