Dr. Anil Chatterji earned his Ph.D. in zoology (fisheries) from A.M.U. University in Aligarh in 1976. Zoology with a Specialisation in Ichthyology & Fisheries was the subject of a 1971 M.Sc. at A.M.U. University, Aligarh. He has 25 years of research experience and has committed his career to studying the biology of marine species, aquaculture, and various elements of marine resources. Particularly the work pertaining to the farming of marine species that are significant for commerce on floating rafts and in flying cages, his contributions to the field of aquaculture have received high Additionally, he has created a multifunctional prawn hatchery that can produce both freshwater and saltwater prawn seed. His research on the Indian horseshoe crab is well known both inside and outside of India. He has two patents that are on file. He was given the chance to oversee 10 national-interest projects. In addition, he has received numerous awards for his Hindi-language scientific papers. For the past six years, he has also been actively involved with Goa University’s postgraduate students’ teaching courses. He also enrols these students in practical classes. Additionally, he helped two M.Sc. students and six B.Sc. students finish their dissertations. He is a renowned Ph.D. advisor, and two students are now enrolled in his programme at the Faculty of Marine Science at Goa University, Goa
